Students participating in the 2025 Digital North- Africa Innovation Skills Challenge Competition had an immersive experience of Moroccan culture


The 2025 Digital North Africa Innovation Skills Challenge Competition concluded successfully on April 24, 2025. The competition attracted enthusiastic participants from China, Morocco, and other countries. Tunisian and Egyptian competitors demonstrated high spirits through online participation. After the competition, the organizing committee organized a three-day cultural experience program to enhance friendships among Chinese and North African students through communication and exchange, mutual learning, and cultural understanding.

On the first day of the event, at the Intangible Cultural Heritage Workshop of Hassan II University, participants from China dressed in traditional Moroccan attire, known as "Jellaba". They engaged in the art of hand-painting with Henna, which is to symbolize the blessings. The participants from both countries came together to create a fusion of Chinese folk music and Andalusian music, performed by a group of students. Attendees enjoyed tasting a variety of foods that showcased the multiculturalism of Moroccan cuisine. In the evening, the students visited the Hassan II Mosque, one of the most famous mosques in the world, renowned for its architectural beauty, decorative arts, intricate carvings, and stunning mosaic inlay techniques.

The following day, the students visited the IGMA School Group in Jedidah who learned about hospitality management and experienced cutting-edge educational facilities, including a virtual reception system, flight attendant training capsule and an intelligent nursing room equipped with artificial intelligence technology over there,. Afterward, the students attended a workshop on Moroccan traditional dress culture. In the afternoon, they explored the art of Azeymour Embroidery, which dates back to the 16th century in the historical city of Azeymour. This traditional embroidery technique blends Portuguese and local styles and continues to provide a sustainable livelihood for over 200 local craftswomen.

At the end of the event, students took a tour in the old town of Casablanca and explored its traditional souks, immersed themselves in the vibrant culture of Morocco. They engaged with the centuries-old stories narrated by the ancient buildings, witnessing the city's transformation and the blend of history and modern life.
