Beijing Polytechnic Holds Overseas Training Base and 2022 Spring Opening Ceremony at Tunis Branch

April 13, 3:00 pm Beijing time, Beijing Polytechnic held an overseas technical skills training base and the spring opening ceremony for 2022 freshmen at the Tunisian branch online through the Classin online teaching system.

Professor Xin Xiulan, Deputy Dean of Beijing Polytechnic, Ma Jun, Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Department, Professor Mukadam Yasin of University Libre de Tunis, and Professor Mahdi Mejeri, representative of Tunisia EPI Education Group, attended the ceremony. All 2022 freshmen and teachers of Tunis Campus gathered together to open a new chapter in the study.

The ceremony was presided over by Ma Jun, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of Beijing Polytechnic. Firstly, the representative of the International Business major, Donnia Benzarte, will give a speech. Donnia Benzarte is full of anticipation for the upcoming course, and at the same time, she tells her classmates about her story with China, telling them that China is a warm, friendly, and charming country. She hopes that everyone can gradually experience and understand China through their studies at Beijing Polytechnic.

Subsequently, Ma Jie, the teacher representative of Beijing Polytechnic, welcomed the students and promised on behalf of the teachers to do a good job in teaching their majors while telling the story of China, spreading the voice of China, conveying the concept of win-win cooperation and openness and tolerance, helping more Tunisian students to grow their knowledge and vocational skills, increase their insight and expand their horizons, thus enhancing Tunisian students' understanding of China.

Next, Professor Mukadam Yassin of University Libre de Tunis and Professor Mahdi Mejeri, representative of Tunisia EPI Education Group, delivered speeches respectively. Professor Mukdam Yassin expressed his great honor in collaborating with Beijing Polytechnic. He hopes that students can face challenges, cherish opportunities, and study hard. University Libre de Tunis will continue to provide support and convenience for students' learning. Professor Mahdi Megeri said that the cooperation with BEIJING POLYTECHNIC is an important strategic cooperation of the education group, and he hoped that it would be fruitful. At the same time, he looked forward to the deepening of strategic relations and more in-depth cooperation between the two sides in the next few years.

Afterwards, Professor Xin Xiulan, Vice Dean of Beijing Polytechnic, delivers a speech. Professor Xin Xiulan gave a detailed introduction to Beijing Polytechnic and four majors enrolled in the program to the students in detail, and introduced the support from the school to the students in terms of hardware, faculty, scholarships, and employment. She expressed her hope that the epidemic would end as soon as possible and that face-to-face communication with teachers and students in Tunisia as soon as possible. Finally, she wishes the students all the best in their studies and hopes to establish closer cooperation with universities in Tunisia.

Finally, Ma Jun, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of Beijing Polytechnic, delivered his concluding remarks. He hopes that students will cherish opportunities, maintain their enthusiasm for learning, and strive to learn professional knowledge and Chinese culture. He believes that in the near future, we will definitely meet in China.

Integrated Solution for Internationalization Construction of the Sino-North Africa Education 

Innovation Association 

In order to respond to the national "One Belt, One Road" initiative, further promote the process of international education construction, drive mature and high-quality professional education resources, gradually realize the promotion and export of high-quality professional education standards, deepen the connotation of schooling, and improve the quality of schooling. Beijing Polytechnic cooperates with the Sino-North Africa Education Innovation Association to jointly develop the advantages of education resources in "One Belt, One Road", and successfully establishes an overseas technical skills training base and the Tunisian branch of Beijing Polytechnic in Tunisia.

In December 2021, Beijing Polytechnic successfully teamed up with University Libre de Tunis and signed a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) and strategic cooperation agreement. The two sides will carry out cooperation activities in fields such as education, scientific research, enhancing international understanding, promoting academic cooperation, promoting cultural exchange, and deepening friendship between the two sides.

The cooperation has received strong support from the Tunisian Ministry of Education and the local government. In March 2022, Beijing Polytechnic launched targeted enrollment for Tunisian international students in the fields of food technology, computer application technology, mechatronics, and international business.
