Beijing Polytechnic Overseas Campus Project in Tunisia Awarded as One of the Innovative Development Accomplishments of Beijing Vocational Education

In order to respond to the national "One Belt, One Road" initiative, to further promote the process of international education construction, to drive mature and high-quality professional education resources, to gradually realize the promotion, to deepen the connotation of schooling, and to improve the quality of schooling. Beijing Polytechnic cooperates with the Sino-North Africa Education Innovation Association to jointly develop the advantages of education resources in "One Belt, One Road" and successfully establishes an overseas technical skills training base and the Tunisian branch of Beijing Polytechnic in Tunisia.

In December 2021, Beijing Polytechnic successfully joined hands with University Libre de Tunis and both sides signed MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) and strategic cooperation agreement to carry out cooperation activities in the fields of education, scientific research, enhancing international understanding, promoting academic cooperation, facilitating cultural exchange and deepening friendship between the two sides.

On August 31, 2022 CHINA INTERNATIONAL FAIR FOR TRADE IN SERVICES (hereinafter referred to as "CIFTS") kicked off in Beijing, with the theme of "Vocational Education for the World - Industry Transformation - Digital Empowerment - Technology Innovation for the Future". On the afternoon of September 2nd, the CIFTS was officially held. At the conference, multiple innovative development achievements in lifelong education, international cooperation, and other aspects were released, including the establishment of an overseas technical skills training base and Tunis branch by Beijing Polytechnic, relying on the University Libre de Tunis. Chen Jiangfeng, Vice Dean of Beijing Polytechnic, attended the seminar and represented the school in signing an online contract with University Libre de Tunis.

In the first two years, students will study the professional courses of the local university in Tunisia, during which Beijing Polytechnic will provide one foreign Chinese course and one mandatory professional course, and in the third year, they can voluntarily choose to come to China for professional courses and training at Beijing Polytechnic according to the requirements of different professional courses. In the third year, according to the requirements of different professional courses, students can voluntarily choose to come to China to conduct professional courses and practical training courses at Beijing Polytechnic. After students pass the examination of all courses, they will be awarded academic certificates from both China and Tunisia. Up to now, the program has enrolled more than 200 Tunisian students, and the enrolled majors cover 7 major clusters of the Beijing Polytechnic.

Beijing Polytechnic and University Libre de Tunis will work together to build a technical skills training base and contribute to the promotion of in-depth cooperation between vocational education of the two countries.
