Signing Ceremony of the Overseas Branch of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University in Tunisia

In order to further deepen the educational exchanges between Zhejiang Chinese Medical University and the countries along the "Belt and Road", promote the process of international education construction of the university, and drive the mature and high-quality professional education resources, with the assistance of the Sino-North Africa Education Innovation Association, Zhejiang Chinese Medical University and Centrale University of Tunis confirmed the mutual cooperation intention in June 2022, Zhejiang Chinese Medical University and the Centrale University of Tunis confirmed their mutual intention to cooperate, and confirmed that " College of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University - Tunisia" was located in the Centrale University of Tunis, which opened a new chapter of international cooperation between the two universities.

Under the active promotion of the association, after the preliminary communication and preparation, the signing ceremony of the overseas branch of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University and Centrale University of Tunis was successfully held on December 1. The representatives of the Chinese side attending this meeting were Chen Zhong, President of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, Wu Chengliang, Vice President of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, Wang Ying, Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Department, Wang Jing, Deputy Director of the Department, Ma Ruijie, Vice President of the Third Hospital affiliated to Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, and Zhou Yunxian, Vice President of the School of Nursing. At the same time, Chen Lu, Secretary-General of the Sino-North Africa Education Innovation Association, together with the administrators, teachers and international students from the two universities witnessed the opening ceremony of the "Signing Ceremony of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University Tunis Overseas Branch" in Hangzhou and Tunis respectively.

Professor Chen Zhong, President of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, gave a welcome speech for the ceremony. On behalf of the university, Prof. Chen Zhong expressed his welcome and thanks to the leaders and guests from both sides who attended the signing ceremony. He introduced the history of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, its discipline characteristics and international development in recent years, and said that after sufficient communication and discussion, Zhejiang Chinese Medical University and Centrale University of Tunis reached a consensus on cooperation, and today's online signing opened a new chapter of cooperation between the two universities. In the future, the two universities should give full play to their advantages, expand cooperation fields, carry out all-round and deep-level cooperation in personnel training and scientific research, and promote win-win development of both sides.

Ms. Houbeb Ajmi, President of Centrale University of Tunis, expressed her gratitude to Zhejiang Chinese Medical University for the importance it attaches to cooperation. She expressed that the two universities have a solid foundation of cooperation, and hoped that the joint training program would be fruitful in the future by working together and actively exploring.

Prof. Zhou Yunxian, Vice Dean of School of Nursing of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, thanked the university for giving the first baton of overseas branch construction to the School of Nursing and expressed that the School would fulfill the important task of overseas branch construction and joint training of talents.

Finally, in the presence of the participants, Prof. Wu Chengliang and Ms. Houbeb Ajmi signed the agreement on behalf of the two institutions.

The institutions of both sides will take the project as the basis of friendly cooperation, carry out in-depth cooperation and active exploration in personnel training, teacher training, scientific research cooperation, etc. They will also export educational resources and educational standards of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University to Tunisia in quality and scale through undergraduate and master's degree programs of nursing and rehabilitation therapy with Chinese medicine characteristics, realize localized training of relevant talents in Tunisia, cooperate to promote educational exchanges and cooperation in the field of Chinese medicine between China and Tunisia, and further promote the development of people-to-people contact and friendship between the two countries.
