Notice Regarding the Organization of the 1st Sino-North Africa International Vocational Education Digital Innovation Skills Competition International Finals in 2024

To All Relevant Units,

Digital development is profoundly changing the way of life and production for all of humanity. Digital talent has also become a core element for the future development of the world. In order to better promote international cooperation in digital innovation in higher education in North Africa, and facilitate international exchange of experiences in digital development and vocational skills training, with the support of relevant government departments in China, Morocco and Tunisia, the Sino-North Africa International Education Innovation Association (SNAEIA), Hassan I University, and the Esprit Educational Group in Tunisia are planning to organize the "1st Sino-North Africa International Vocational Education Digital Innovation Skills Competition." The competition was launched in China on August 17, 2023, and the international finals will be held in Casablanca, Morocco in May 2024.

Event Schedule

(1) Competition Dates: May 2024

(2) Competition Format: On-site

(3) Competition Venue: Hassan I University, Casablanca, Morocco

(4) Competition Categories: Additive Manufacturing,Virtual Reality,Cross-Border E-commerce

(5) Participants: There are no specific age groups; however, participants must be current students between the ages of 16 (born before January 1, 2007) and 28 (born after January 1, 1995).

Each participating team consists of two competitors, two guiding experts (teachers, one of them will be judge), competitors and guiding experts are mandatory for registration. Cross-school teams are not allowed.

(6) Awards and Recognition:

Teams participating in the Morocco International Finals will be eligible for gold, silver, bronze, and honorable mention awards. Teams will be ranked according to the specific category requirements. The team ranked 1st in their category will receive a gold award, along with a gold medal and certificate. Teams ranked 2nd and 3rd in their respective categories will receive silver awards, including silver medals and certificates. Teams ranked 4th to 6th in their categories will receive bronze awards, with bronze medals and certificates. Additionally, those participants ranked within the top 10 but outside of the top 6 will receive honorable mention awards in the form of medals and certificates.

Activities and Collaboration Opportunities During the Competition

1. Visiting training centers, educational institutions, cultural and arts centers, etc.

2. Discussing potential future international cooperation initiatives between Chinese and Moroccan educational institutions.

Event Registration

The 1st Sino-North Africa International Vocational Education Digital Innovation Skills Competition 2023 International Finals consists of 3 categories (please refer to Appendix 1 for details). The Chinese delegation will participate in all categories of the competition and will organize remote international training camps and advanced training for each category.

(1) Experts and competitors are mandatory participants for each category. Experts should possess relevant professional knowledge, and teachers from secondary vocational schools, higher vocational colleges, and universities, as well as engineers from enterprises and institutions, are eligible to register. Competitors must meet the age requirements for each category. Students from secondary vocational schools, higher vocational colleges, and universities are eligible to register.

(2) Registration will be conducted in teams, with two experts/teachers and two competitors for each category per unit.

Participation Fees

Participation fees cover accommodation, transportation, registration fees for the competition, and other related expenses and will be borne by the sending units or students themselves. Specific itineraries and event arrangements will be notified separately after registration confirmation.
