Bilateral Work Coordination Meeting Held between Sino-North Africa Education Innovation Association and Namibia Training Authority (NTA) Representatives

From 22 to 27 September 2026, the 48th WorldSkills Competition was held in Shanghai. During the event, with coordination from the Embassy of Namibia in China, Chen Lu, Secretary-General of the Sino-North Africa Education Innovation Association, SNAEIA, held a discussion meeting with the representatives from the administrative heads of four regions in Namibia—Omahekhe, Omusati, Oshana, and Ohangwena—as well as from the National Training Authority (NTA), private sector vocational and technical education and training institutions in Namibia, and the Namibian University of Science and Technology (NUST). The Bilateral Work Coordination Meeting focused on cooperation between China and Namibia in vocational and technical education and training.

At the meeting, representatives of Namibia introduced their development needs and cooperative intentions in the field of vocational and technical education and training. Chen Lu did an introduction on the experience and achievements of SNAEIA in promoting China-Africa vocational education cooperation, building an exchange platform, and achieving cooperation in recent years. The two sides communicated on cooperation intentions such as teacher training, scholarships, adaptation to industrial needs, technical skills training and student cultural exchanges.

Both sides fully exchanged views on topics of interest such as vocational education and standard training, the cultivation of technical skills, cooperation for the institution collaboration of the two countries while not only reached a consensus on the signing of a memorandum of cooperation, but also agreed to provide cooperation opportunities and relevant information consultation for vocational and technical education and training centers in 14 regions of Namibia through the offices of the chief executive of each region, so as to further promote the work coordination of vocational education resources and pragmatic cooperation between the two sides.

Chen Lu said that the meeting this docking has built a dialogue platform for the expansion and cooperation in the field of vocational education between China and Namibia, which is also an important progress in the cooperation network of vocational education in Africa. SNAEIA will provide support to promote the cooperation between the two sides from consensus to action, and serve the exchanges and cooperation in the field of vocational and technical education and training.
