News Update | Sino-North Africa Education Innovation Association, SNAEIA Elected Vice Chair Unit of the China–Africa (South Africa) Technical and Vocational Education Cooperation Alliance under the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange of the Ministry of Education

On 16 June, the 2026 general election of the Chinese Council and the Chairpersons’ Meeting for Development Advisory of the China–Africa (South Africa) Technical and Vocational Education Cooperation Alliance was successfully held in Beijing. Hosted by the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange of the Ministry of Education and organized by Beijing Polytechnic College, the meeting completed the re-election and appointment of the new council. The Sino-North Africa Education Innovation Association (SNAEIA) was successfully elected as a Vice Chair Unit, establishing a higher-level exchange platform for in-depth China-Africa vocational education cooperation.

During the meeting, the inaugural working meeting of the newly elected council and the development advisory symposium were convened, focusing on core topics including the strategic development of China-Africa vocational education cooperation, project implementation, and joint resource development. At the meeting, Chen Lu, Secretary-General of the Sino-North Africa Education Innovation Association, introduced in detail the achievements of SNAEIA in the field of China-Africa vocational education in recent years, and systematically sorted out key projects and related landmark achievements and cases, including the establishment of a strategic cooperative relationship with the UNESCO Liaison Office in the African Union and the implementation of the China-Africa MOOC Digital Education Resource Platform (i.e. the China-Africa MOOC Platform). 

Chen Lu stated that SNAEIA will proactively align its future work with the overall development strategy of the China–Africa (South Africa) Technical and Vocational Education Cooperation Alliance, closely follow the core work deployment of the 2026 “China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges”, live up to trust, adhere to the original intention, be pragmatic, continue to be the promoter of Sino-Africa vocational education cooperation, an advocate of cultural exchanges, and the pragmatic and win-win practitioner, and make greater contributions to promoting the opening up of China-Africa education and deepening China-Africa friendly cooperation.
